A typical pregnancy lasts 40 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) to the birth of the baby. It is divided into three stages, called trimesters: first trimester, second trimester, and third trimester. The fetus undergoes many changes throughout maturation. How Soon Can You Tell If You Are Pregnant?
Joanna’s client called Stroller Life based in Sweden commissioned Joanna to illustrate the week by week stages of pregnancy for their pregnancy app called ‘Preggers’. The brief was to depict all 40 stages of the foetus as individual foetal illustrations and all 40 weeks of a Caucasian woman and the offspring developing inside the womb.
The target market for the charts are hospitals, birth centres, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, physiotherapists, obstetricians, birth doulas, and midwives.
