Artery Diagram Image

The arteries are the blood vessels that deliver oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the tissues of the body. Each artery is a muscular tube lined by smooth tissue and has three layers: The intima, the inner layer lined by a smooth tissue called endothelium

Here are the steps that the students can follow to draw the arteries and veins. Step 1: at first, people need to draw the heart with the pulmonary artery and vein. The students must place the valves in their proper position, and they can also indicate the four parts of the heart.

Mesenteric Artery Image

The superior mesenteric artery plays a vital role in keeping the digestive system healthy and functioning. If the artery clogs with plaque or develops a clot, blood flow to digestive organs slows. Rarely, the superior mesenteric artery presses against a renal vein or the duodenum, causing potentially life-threatening problems.

The mesentery is found in your abdomen, where it surrounds your intestines. It comes from the area on the back side of your abdomen where your aorta (a main artery) branches off to another large artery called the superior mesenteric artery. This is sometimes referred to as the root region of the mesentery.

When examining the mesenteric arteries, several landmarks are helpful to ensure correct identification of the mesenteric vascular anatomy. The celiac artery, in the transverse view, has a distinctive appearance, with a characteristic T-shaped bifurcation (the “seagull sign” Fig. 26.14).

Celiac Artery Branches Image

The celiac artery, which is also referred to as the celiac trunk, is a major branch of the abdominal aorta. At the top of the hip bones, the abdominal aorta branches into the common iliac arteries that supply oxygenated blood to the legs.

In general, any of the three celiac branches may arise independently from the aorta or SMA, or the celiac artery may give rise to other branches. A coeliacomesenteric trunk occurs when both the SMA and the celiac trunk originate as a single trunk from the aorta. left gastric artery: 2-3%. splenic artery: <1%.

Course. It is surrounded by celiac lymph nodes and the celiac plexus. At the upper border of the pancreas, it divides into three branches: left gastric, splenic, and common hepatic arteries. The left gastric artery is usually the first branch, after which the celiac artery bifurcates into the splenic artery (coursing to the left)…
